Yesterday, six agriculture education students attended the Eastern Nebraska Youth Institute and were recognized as Borlaug Scholars! The Eastern Nebraska Youth Institute is a life-changing experience at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where high school students engage with local leaders and experts on critical global challenges, participate in hands-on activities, and explore exciting ways to make a difference in Nebraska and around the world. These students submitted a 2-3 page research paper addressing the global challenge of ending hunger and poverty around the world. Each student was able to select a country and topic and develop solutions to solve this issue. During the institute, these students presented their research and solutions to a group of global leaders! The following students were recognized: Tamryn Klein, Kendra Cargill, Katie Oakley, Lauren Diessner, Emalee Leth, and Gabby Gibson.
