Central Valley FFA will be hosting a free-will donation Grab-and-Go Harvest Meal for all farmers in the area on Wednesday, October, 19th! We will have locations at the Country Partners Co-Ops in North Loup & Greeley. We will have the hot meals ready for pickup at both locations by 11:30am.
Congratulations to the Central Valley FFA Land Judging team for placing 12th overall at the District contest yesterday! There was over 100 contestants and 30 teams!
Members of the team included: Katie Oakley (42nd), Emalee Leth (44th), Lauren Diessner (53rd), Thayer Davis (69th) and Carter Dunlap (76th).
Central Valley 7th and 8th grade students recently competed at the Scholastic Contest held at Spalding Academy accompanied with Coach Sarah Hansen and Mr. Kevin Wood. Congratulations to Maggie Kriewald, first place winner in both the 7th grade Social Studies and English competitions, Brooklyn Perrott, winner of the 8th grade English competition and July Gotschall, winner of the 7th grae Health contest!

Scotia Volunteer Fire Department purchased, Central Valley FFA member, Bo Pokorny’s Supreme Champion Utility Trailer! Bo has worked on the trailer since February of 2022. He has spent over 200 hours building the trailer. He cut and welded all the metal frame, wired all the lights and break lines, added the boards, and competed all the final touches such as the reflectors. Bo stated that his favorite part of the project was welding the frame together.
This fall he entered the trailer in the FFA Ag Mechanics contest at the Nebraska State Fair and won Supreme Champion over all other Ag Mechanics projects! Bo presented the trailer to Jay Meyer, Scotia Volunteer Fire Department Chief, on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. Mr. Meyer and the Fire Department were very excited to start using Bo’s project! They were amazed by the quality of the trailer. Bo quotes, “I was very excited and surprised by the results, I didn’t realize what all I was capable of accomplishing. This was one of my favorite projects I have done in high school and am looking forward to continuing my career in Ag Mechanics and Welding.”
“So many people gave Bo compliments on the quality of the trailer, from Smith Welding in St. Paul, Larry’s Body Shop in St. Libory, and at the state fair. People could not believe a high school student made the trailer; they thought it had come from a manufacturer. This just shows the time and skill that Bo was able to put into this project” Ms. Julia Wright, Central Valley High School Ag Teacher, said. We would like to congratulate Bo Pokorny for an amazing job on his trailer project!
The CV Freshmen Class will be hosting a tailgate before tonight's football game starting at 6:00 pm. Come out and see the Freshmen class and cheer the Cougars on to victory!
