The 1st and 3rd grade students enjoyed two different field trips yesterday. 3rd grade visited the Kearney Archway, and 1st grade visited the Hastings Museum. Both had lots of fun!
There will be an informational meeting for fifth and sixth grade tackle football in the fall 2024 at 7:30 Thursday evening in the auditorium. If you are unable to make it, please send a message or call Steve Kriewald at 308-219-0454. This will help us ensure we have enough equipment for the fall.
Our 6th grade students sure are having a great time on their two-day field trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha!

Happy Mother's Day to all of our Central Valley Mothers! Friday was Muffins with Mom at the elementary school and the students got to spend time making a bracelet and enjoying a muffin with moms, grandmas, aunts, and other guardians. Thank you to our Central Valley PTO for purchasing the bracelet material and muffins, to Kriewald Cookie Creations for designing and baking the muffins, to Mrs. Katie Davis for the beautiful decorations, and to all of the elementary staff who assisted and supported as needed. It was a great day!
The 2nd grade students visited the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora yesterday, and had a great time in the "Explorit Zone". HOW FUN!

Due to incoming severe weather, Central Valley will be dismissing school early today. The elementary school will dismiss at 1:45 pm and the high school will dismiss at 2:00 pm.

SPRING CONCERT TIME!
This is just a reminder that the middle and high school band and choir concert will be this Thursday at the high school in the gym. The concert begins at 7 pm. Students need to arrive at 6:30 pm and wear nice dress clothes. We hope to see everyone there as our students perform one last time and we celebrate their accomplishments this year!

Our 4th grade students had a great time at the Ashfall Fossil Beds on Friday. They got to explore museum exhibits regarding the history of the park, walk several nature trails, talk with researchers about fossil excavation, and become kid paleontologists by digging in the fossil sandbox.

REMINDER: Any sports physical scheduled on or after May 1, 2024 is valid for the 2024-2025 school year! Contrary to popular practice, you do not have to wait until the day fall practices begin. :)
It was Pancakes with the Principal today at CVE. So proud of our April Cougar Community Recognition staff and Star Student winners. As always, thank you so much to the Central Valley PTO for providing the goodies, to Mrs. Julia Wood and Mrs. Mandy McClure for setting everything up, and to Mr. Tom for flipping up the pancakes.
